Export a BCF file from Bimlyte

To export a BCF file, open a project that has issues and choose Export as (or Export issues), then pick BCF 2.1 or BCF 3.0. You can export the whole project, selected BCF files, or a selection of issues — each downloads a single BCF file.

Bimlyte exports your issues as a standard BCF file you can open in any BCF-capable tool. You can export from three scopes — the whole project, chosen files, or chosen issues — and every export asks which version to write, BCF 2.1 or BCF 3.0. If all the data that version needs is present, the file downloads right away; if something is missing, Bimlyte asks you to resolve it first. Picking the version here is also how you convert a BCF between 2.1 and 3.0.

Steps

Export the whole project

Every issue in the project, from the sidebar menu.

  1. Open the project menu

    In the sidebar, click the project name to open its menu. Open the Export issues dropdown and choose BCF 2.1 or BCF 3.0.

  2. Fill in anything missing, then download

    If the target version needs data that the issues lack, Bimlyte asks you to fill it in first. All of the project's issues then download as one BCF file.

Export selected file(s)

One or more BCF files, from the Files page.

  1. Open Files and select

    Go to the Files page. For a single file, click the three-dots menu in the bottom-right of its BCF card. For several, tick the checkbox in the top-left of each BCF card, then open Actions in the toolbar.

  2. Choose Export as and a version

    Choose Export as, then pick BCF 2.1 or BCF 3.0. When you export several files, their issues download together as one merged BCF file.

  1. Open Issues and select

    Go to the Issues page. Right-click a single issue, or tick the issues you want — the checkbox in the top-left of a card, or the left column in table view — then open Actions in the toolbar.

  2. Choose Export as and a version

    Choose Export as, then pick BCF 2.1 or BCF 3.0. The selected issues download together as one BCF file.

Whichever method you use: because some fields differ between BCF 2.1 and 3.0, the export may first ask you to complete what the chosen version requires — then the download continues. Everything happens in your browser; your issues are not uploaded. Prefer a report instead? Export to PDF or Excel.
