Convert BCF between 2.1 and 3.0

  • Convert
  • BCF
  • Export

To convert a BCF file, add it to a project, open the file card's three-dots menu, choose Export as, and pick the target version — BCF 2.1 or BCF 3.0. The downloaded file is in the version you chose.

Different tools expect different BCF versions. Bimlyte treats 2.1 and 3.0 the same internally — the version only matters on export — so converting is simply exporting the file in the version you need.

Steps

  1. Open Files and find your BCF

Open your project and go to Files. Each BCF file card shows a badge in its top-right — BCF 2.1 or BCF 3.0 — telling you the version the file was added in.

  2. Open Export as

Click the three-dots menu in the bottom-right of the BCF file card and Export as. Choose the version you need — BCF 2.1 or BCF 3.0.

  3. Download the converted file

The converted file downloads automatically in that version. If the target version needs data the file doesn't have, Bimlyte asks you to complete it first.

Everything happens in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Bimlyte keeps the file at the version it was added in; converting only changes the exported copy, not the file in your project. To keep the converted version in Bimlyte, add it back as a new file.
