Add custom attributes

  • BCF
  • Project
  • Create

To add a custom attribute, open the Attributes page, go to the Custom Fields tab, click + Add field, name it, pick a type, and click Create — it appears on every issue.

Beyond the standard attributes, Bimlyte lets you add custom fields to capture information specific to your project — a text note, a number, a date, or a choice from your own list of options.

Steps

  1. Open the Custom Fields tab

Open your project, click Attributes in the sidebar, and go to the Custom Fields tab.

  2. Click + Add field

In the top-right corner, click + Add field. A dialog opens.

  3. Name it and pick a type

Enter a name and choose a type — Text, Number, Date, Single select or Multiple select. Click Create. The field is added to the list.

  4. Add options (select types only)

For a Single select or Multiple select field, expand its row and click + Add option. An input appears — type a value and press Enter or click + Add. Repeat for each option you want to offer.

  5. Assign a value to the issue

Open the issue, scroll down to the newly created custom field, and enter or select a value.

Custom fields are only supported by Bimlyte and can be included in PDF and Excel exports or filters. When downloading issues to BCF, these fields are saved in a dedicated file inside the package, allowing them to import automatically when re-uploaded. Note: Editing and exporting these issues in other software may delete Bimlyte-specific files.
