Merge BCF comments

  • Merge
  • BCF
  • Import

To merge BCF comments, open your project, choose Import from Project or Import from File → Comments, select projects or files, review the preview of what will change, and click Import — the comments land on the matching issues.

Sometimes the same issues pick up different comments in different tools — added in parallel, so no single file has them all. Bimlyte smart-merges comments into your issues from another project or from a BCF file, matching issues automatically so nothing is duplicated.

Steps

Import into all issues

When another Bimlyte project or file has the same issues with different comments.

  1. Open the import menu

In the sidebar, click the active project's name to open its menu, then choose Import from Project / File → Comments.

  2. Choose the source, check the preview, and import

In the dialog, pick the projects or files to pull comments from. Bimlyte matches issues across the selected sources and previews what will change: the matched issues, and how many comments will be added, updated, or skipped. Click Import comments

  3. Review the comments

The merged comments appear on the matching issues. Always make sure that no data is missing.

Import to selected issues only

When you want to merge into specific issues, not the whole project.

  1. Select issues on the Issues page

Go to the Issues page. Right-click a single issue → Import from File / Project → Comments, or tick the issues you want — the checkbox in the top-left of a card, or the left column in table view.

  2. Open the import menu

For multiple issues, open Actions → Import from File / Project → Comments in the toolbar.

  3. Choose the source and import

In the dialog, pick the projects or files to pull comments from. Review the preview of changes — just as above — and click Import.

This is a smart merge — Bimlyte matches issues between the sources and brings the comments together without duplicating them. Everything happens in your browser; a BCF file you import from is never uploaded. Viewpoints merge the same way.
