Add documents to a Bimlyte project

  • BCF
  • Import
  • Project

To add a document, open your project, go to the Documents page, click Add document, choose a file, and click Add — then reference it from any issue.

Documents let you keep supporting files — specifications, drawings, photos, reports — alongside your work in Bimlyte. Once added, a document can be referenced from the issues it relates to, so anyone reviewing an issue can find the file behind it.

Steps

  1. Open your project and go to Documents

Open your project and click Documents in the sidebar.

  2. Click Add document

On the Documents page, click Add document. A dialog opens.

  3. Choose the file

Click Choose file and pick the document from your computer.

  4. Add details and references (optional)

You can add a description, and select the issues this document should be referenced in. Both are optional — you can change them later. Click Add.

  5. Add document references to issues

You can also add document references directly from the issue details. Open any issue, find the Document References section and click Add document, then select your file and enter an optional description. To point at an external document instead, choose Link from the menu and enter the URL.

Documents are stored on your device — nothing is sent to a server — and they can be bundled into a ZIP export to hand over with the rest of the project.
